Within global equities, one of the key themes we see emerging in 2015 is a shift in focus of corporate Japan from stockpiling to distributing excess cash. This may awaken income-seekers’ interest in the country, especially when 94% of Asian investors plan to invest in assets to generate a regular source income, and of which 39% are looking to invest directly in stocks and equity funds to achieve this, according to the 2015 Schroders Global Investment Trend Survey.
